These simple applesauce overnight oats for babies are easy to make ahead of time with just a few ingredients. With no added sugar and healthy ingredients, you'll feel good about giving your little one a nutritious breakfast. They are also great for baby led weaning and toddlers!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce, store bought or homemade
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup quick oats or rolled oats (see notes)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar or other container with a lid. Stir until well combined.
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 6 hours.
  3. In the morning, give oats a stir and thin with more milk before serving if needed.

Notes

  • Oats: For traditionally fed babies who are not ready for the texture of rolled oats or quick oats, use a food processor or blender to blend rolled oats until they are finely ground before mixing everything together. This will give you a smoother, thinner texture in your overnight oats. BLW babies and toddlers should be able to handle both quick and rolled oats just fine without any additional preparation.
  • Milk: If you have spare breastmilk, feel free to use it in this recipe. You can also use nondairy milk for allergies.
