These overnight oats made with fresh peaches are cool, creamy and naturally sweetened with just fruit - no added sugar! They are perfect for babies 6 months and up, toddlers, and mamas.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 large peach or 1/2 small peach (see notes)
  • 1/3 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (blend them into a powder or use quick oats for spoon fed babies)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
  • pinch nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the peach, milk and vanilla to a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Add the milk mixture to a jar or other container with a lid. Add the oats, chia seeds and nutmeg.
  3. Stir to combine well, cover the container and refrigerate overnight or at lease 6 hours.
  4. In the morning, you can thin the mixture with a little milk to reach the consistency you like.

Notes

  • Make sure your peach is sweet and fragrant, since we are relying on it for flavor and sweetness! Bland peaches will give you bland overnight oats. If peaches aren't in season, you can use frozen, thawed peaches.
  • You can peel the peach or leave the skin on. I leave it on since the skin is high in nutrients and my food processor had no problem blending it up.
  • For smoother oats for spoon-fed babies, you can either blend up the oats in the food processor first (this will have the least texture) or use quick or instant oats.
  • For gluten-free, make sure you're using certified gluten-free oats.
  • For dairy-free, use your favorite non-dairy milk (make sure it's unsweetened)!
  • Other swaps for milk could be canned coconut milk, yogurt thinned to milk consistency, buttermilk, or even breastmilk if you have extra.
  • Try playing with the flavors! Add almond extract, swap nutmeg for ginger, or try adding finely shredded coconut.
  • For sweeter version for adults, try drizzling a little maple syrup or honey on top.
