Peach Overnight Oats
As a mom of two very young children, I often relied on overnight oats not only to feed myself a nutritious breakfast, but to also feed my little eaters. These peach overnight oats are a great way to give your baby or toddler a taste of fresh summer peaches in an easy, healthy, make-ahead breakfast. With nutritious ingredients like oats and chia seeds and no added sugar, these overnight oats are appropriate for babies starting at 6 months, toddlers, and beyond! They're ideal for BLW babies, but if you want to feed them to your spoon-fed little one, you can make simple modifications to do so.

Ingredients
- Peach - You'll need a juicy, fragrant fresh peach (otherwise the taste will be bland). If they aren't in season, you can use frozen, thawed peaches.
- Milk - Use any kind of milk you like. I prefer regular cow's milk. (Yes, babies can have cow's milk.)
- Vanilla - for a little extra sweet flavor without added sugar.
- Rolled oats (also called old fashioned oats). You can swap them for quick oats, or blend them into a powder for younger spoon-fed babies if you want a less chunky texture.
- Chia seeds - optional, but add a little boost of healthy fat and fiber.
- Nutmeg - a tiny pinch adds a nice flavor, but it's totally optional!
Equipment: You'll need a food processor and a jar or other container with a lid.

- In a food processor, blend the peach, milk and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the milk mixture to a jar or container, along with the oats, chia seeds and nutmeg. Give it a stir and refrigerate overnight, or at least 6 hours.
- Stir the mixture in the morning. If your overnight oats are too thick, thin them to the texture you like by adding a little more milk.
Tips and Recipe Variations
- As mentioned, make sure your peach is sweet and fragrant, since we are relying on it for flavor and sweetness! Bland peaches will give you bland overnight oats. If peaches aren't in season, you can use frozen, thawed peaches.
- You can peel the peach or leave the skin on. I leave it on since the skin is high in nutrients and my food processor had no problem blending it up.
- For smoother oats for spoon-fed babies, you can either blend up the oats in the food processor first (this will have the least texture) or use quick or instant oats.
- For gluten-free, make sure you're using certified gluten-free oats.
- For dairy-free, use your favorite non-dairy milk (make sure it's unsweetened)!
- Other swaps for milk could be canned coconut milk, yogurt thinned to milk consistency, buttermilk, or even breastmilk if you have extra.
- Try playing with the flavors! Add almond extract, swap nutmeg for ginger, or try adding finely shredded coconut.
- For sweeter version for adults, try drizzling a little maple syrup or honey on top.
Storage
Overnight oats will keep in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 4 days. Feel free to make a big batch and portion into single servings. I love these glass baby blocks for baby portions!
How To Serve Overnight Oats To Babies 6 Months and Up
For baby led weaning babies 6 months and up, serve overnight oats in a shallow bowl or rimmed plate and let them go to town with their hands. (Yes, it does get messy!) You can also pre-load them onto a soft spoon and place the spoon on baby's tray. Toddlers who have had utensil practice should be able to eat these oats with a spoon wince they're nice and thick.
